Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara will once again host the Sixth Annual Dhow Festival which will run from 15th until 19th November 2016. The 6th Katara Dhow Festival’s most prominent event includes 7 traditional tournaments: Weaving; Diving, Al-Lufah, Bringing down ship loaders, Al-Nahmah and Rowing. The festival organized a set of several exciting and educational activities to introduce guests to the rich culture and maritime heritage of Qatar and the GCC countries.
Opening Ceremony started yesterday, 15th November 2016 and will run through until Saturday, 19th November at the Katara Beach. The five-day event will be a showcase of on-stage Folklore music and dance performances by bands from Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. On the last day, various activities for the children will take place as well as competitions for Painting and Al Naham Mubarak Al Hajiri Competition.
The five-day event will be preceded by an Opening Ceremony to be celebrated with Fireworks display on the first day. The next four days of the festival will be a showcase of on-stage Folklore music and dance performances by bands from Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. On the last day, various activities for the children will take place as well as competitions for Painting and Al Naham Mubarak Al Hajiri Competition.
